Beating Heart
Consent from legal age next-of-kin is always obtained before organs or tissue are recovered for transplant.
All major religions support organ and tissue donation.
Donation does not interfere with normal
funeral or burial plans.
The major barrier to organ and tissue donation is family refusal to give consent at the time of
a family member's death.
You must inform your family about your decision to donate so that they may carry out your wishes later.
One donor can save the lives of as many as 40 transplant patients!
